This is primarily a travel blog in which I write about traveling in our motorhome. Our travels have

Nacogdoches, TX, United States
I began this blog as a vehicle for reporting on a 47-day trip made by my wife and me in our motorhome down to the Yucatan Peninsula and back. I continued writing about our post-Yucatan travels and gradually began including non-travel related topics. I often rant about things that piss me off, such as gun violence, fracking, healthcare, education, and anything else that pushes my button. I have a photography gallery on my Smugmug site (http://rbmartiniv.smugmug.com).

It Was a Long Day

We spent Wednesday night in Houston at an airport hotel because we had an early flight Thursday morning. The alarm went off at 4:30 AM so we could make the 5:30 AM shuttle to the airport for our 6:30 AM flight - the first leg of three. Ten hours and 3,300 air miles later we were wheels down at Fairbanks International Airport. We were bussed to our hotel where we immediately took a nap before dinner. There was no hurry to go to dinner as the sun doesn’t set until 11:39 PM. It will then rise again about 4:14 AM. In the land of the midnight sun there is not a lot of night time in the summer.

Communication with the outside world will be difficult. T-Mobil cell service up here is non-existent and the hotel internet is super slow. I will post whenever possible.
