This is primarily a travel blog in which I write about traveling in our motorhome. Our travels have

Nacogdoches, TX, United States
I began this blog as a vehicle for reporting on a 47-day trip made by my wife and me in our motorhome down to the Yucatan Peninsula and back. I continued writing about our post-Yucatan travels and gradually began including non-travel related topics. I often rant about things that piss me off, such as gun violence, fracking, healthcare, education, and anything else that pushes my button. I have a photography gallery on my Smugmug site (http://rbmartiniv.smugmug.com).

Correction of Errata

My darling wife has just pointed out to me, while roaring with laughter, that the Clydesdale horses are NOT all mares as I so stated in last night's blog and I must apologize for this mistake. They are, in fact, all geldings. For those of you not familiar with the term, a gelding is a male horse which has gone under the knife to have his family jewels removed. Also known as castrated, neutered, or "fixed".  In any case, they may not be mares, but they certainly act like it!  I guess it makes them lighter on their feet.

Only a woman could laugh while discussing this subject! Our Mexican friends Jonna and Mimi volunteer for the stray dog neutering program in Merida. I always insist that they lock up their elastic bands when I visit.
